KFC 11 Herbs & Spice Girls Twitter Stunt

In 2017, KFC followed 35,000 people on Twitter for no reason. So we unfollowed all of them and followed just 11 back; the 5 Spice Girls and 6 guys named “Herb”… then we waited.

At a time when brands used social for everything but making a statement, we saw an opportunity to remind the world what KFC stands for — unapologetic pride in fried chicken. So we followed only 11 people on Twitter — six Herbs and the five Spice Girls — quietly deleting 35,000 others. When one fan finally noticed, the internet did the rest, turning a single follow list into global conversation about KFC’s Original Recipe.
